Power Train
highWhat's wrong: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2025 E-Transit vehicles. The left rear axle half shaft may partially disengage from the power drive unit, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Why it matters: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. In addition, a half shaft that is not fully engaged to the primary drive unit can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The fix: Dealer will inspect and replace the rear half shaft and power drive unit components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 3, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25SD9. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on December 15, 2025.
